Horning Brothers has a long commitment to building better communities in the Washington DC region.
Horning Brothers has partnered with six community development corporations (CDCs) promoting local development meeting the needs of the communities. Many of Horning Brothers’ affordable properties offer resident services supporting after-school programs, senior programs and workforce development. As a company, Horning Brothers is an active supporter of City Year, Rebuilding Together of DC and GALA Theater.
Horning Brothers’ management team has been active in its support of Washington DC’s organizations. Joseph Horning, Jr is serving or has served on the Board of the Higher Achievement Program, DC Public Charter School Board, Carroll High School and City First Bank. David Roodberg is serving or has served on the Boards of Washington Tennis and Education Foundation, Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship, Training Groups and Wesley Housing Development.
